BlackBerry Maps Now Available

There is another free map application, this time from Research in Motion, called BlackBerry Maps now available for the BlackBerry.

I am not sure that I like BlackBerry Maps as much as Google Maps or Berry411, however, I cannot give it a true evaluation, because I don’t have a BlackBerry with GPS, which BlackBerry Maps does support.

The way that directions are listed out is kind of cool and easy to follow, but, once again, doesn’t really do much more than Google Maps, an application that made my original list of 5 must have free BlackBerry downloads. BlackBerry Maps doesn’t appear to have the satellite view that Google Maps has either.

I have a Blackberry 8703e. Do I need a external bluetooth GPS to use Blackberry Maps?

No if you are on Sprint, but yes if you are on VZW.
