The BlackBerry Pearl may have a bit of competition from another new release from T-Mobile. The Samsung t719, a SureType keyboard toting, BlackBerry Connect running, digital picture taking, flip phone is available for $199.99 on their website.
The T719 will also feature a rotating, 1.3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, a speakerphone, Voice command dialing, and run on T-Mobile’s high-speed EDGE network.

It is very smart for T-Mobile to come out with this Blackberry connect phone shortly after coming out with the Pearl. Many of the consumers looking at the Pearl are probably coming from and like clamshell mobile phones and won’t even notice that this Samsung phone is not really even a BlackBerry.
It would be a good idea if this phone weren’t so butt ugly. If Motorola came out with a Razr with a suretype keyboard and BlackBerry Connect I would buy on in a heartbeat

I aggree with Ugly. Put this phone next to the Pearl and there is no competition at all. Is that a monochrome LCD panel on the front? How 2001 is that?

The Samsung SGH-P520 is a triband GSM phone supporting EDGE data connection. While it is keypad-less, the specification did not mention if its display screen is done with a touch screen. Similar to LG Prada phone, it has only call answering buttons at the front.
Best of all the phone might come with built in WiFi for UMA. Those who wants a smaller iPhone would better bet on this.
