The BlackBerry Owners Lounge is always doing something to try to get BlackBerry users to join. Right now they are offering a free 6 month subscription to Fast Company. I’ve got to say that this isn’t a half bad deal. Fast Company is one of the few Magazines that I have an active subscription to that I actually pay for.
Act fast if you are interested because this offer is only available to the first 15,000 members who sign up for it.

We’ve seen BlackBerrys advertised in TV commercials before, however, I can’t say that I’ve ever seen BlackBerry commercial directly from RIM. Usually BlackBerry supporting wireless carriers are the ones that come out with the commercials.
The times, however, must be “a changin” because here is a spot that aired on NBC during Prime-Time last night. There is a shorter clearer version of this commercial right on the BlackBerry.com website.

One of the rather pretty cool free BlackBerry applications released in recent times is Facebook for BlackBerry which came out in October last year. Even though Facebook for BlackBerry made our 5 Must Have Free BlackBerry Downloads… Second Edition, there are a few things that are kind of annoying about the tool.
One of those annoying things is that “Is” appears after your name when you update your status. RIM decided to come out with an update specifically to remove the “Is” from the Veiw Status screen, however, according to BBGeeks, the “Is” is still there.

According to BGR, which is usually right about this kind of stuff, the BlackBerry 9000 will be officially announced by Research in Motion May 12th, the first day of WES down in Orlando Florida.
To be clear, the BlackBerry 9000 is being announced… Not released. If RIM follows suite, this thing will probably come out first on AT&T anywhere from a few weeks to a few months later.
Maybe we should go ahead and start the “How long with it take the BlackBerry 9000 to come out on Verizon?” thread now so we can get a jump start on what most probably will be a very popular post if past history is a good indication of things.
