New Yahoo! and Google Talk IM Clients Available For BlackBerry

If you head over to mobile.blackberry.com on your BlackBerry you will see that they have new versions of Yahoo Instant Messenger for BlackBerry and Google Talk for BlackBerry available for you to download.

I’ve only downloaded the Google Talk client as of yet and from what I see so far it appears to be a significant upgrade to the interface. You can see the profile pictures of yourself and your contacts.

I love a good free BlackBerry download…

RIM Launches Facebook For BlackBerry

Research in Motion has just announced that they have launched Facebook For BlackBerry. The application which will first appear on T-Mobile will allow BlackBerry users to wirelessly send and receive messages, photos, pokes, and Wall posts and the really cool thing is that Facebook for BlackBerry is not just a browser application, but, leverages the BlackBerry’s push-based architecture to deliver information to your device.

Facebook is one of the fastest growing web destinations among BlackBerry smartphone users and it has become an important element in the evolving fabric of personal communications,” said Mike Lazaridis, President and Co-CEO at Research In Motion. “Facebook and RIM share a vision for enhanced mobile communications and social networking based on open, standards-based platforms and this has allowed us to produce a rich mobile application for Facebook users that leverages the push-based architecture, multimedia features and industry-leading usability of the BlackBerry solution.

Facebook for BlackBerry will be available as a free BlackBerry download and will be available later today at www.facebook.com.

T-Mobile BlackBerry Curve 8320 Update Available

T-Mobile has just posted an update for the BlackBerry Curve 8320 that will bring your OS up to 4.2.2.180.

The update fixes a bug that caused your new BlackBerry Curve to lose Hotspot @Home capability which basically prevented you from making calls or sending messages over Wi-Fi after using the Switch Device Wizard to restore backed up data from your old BlackBerry to your new BlackBerry Curve.

You can download the update by visiting the BlackBerry Upgrade section of T-Mobile’s site.
