The RIMarkable in-box gets crazy sounding emails from time to time and this one actually made me laugh out loud so I decided to post it.
After squarely being kicked in the seat of the pants by Apple with their launch of the iPhone and the continued success of Research in Motion’s BlackBerry, Palm, once the king of the hill in the smartphone industry, has decided to name all future next generation devices after fruit.
Expect the Palm Sapote in late Q1 next year. You know how the saying goes, if you can’t beat em, join em.

Here is another reason Apple isn’t going to hurt RIM’s BlackBerry sales anytime in the near future. 100% carrier subsidized BlackBerry Curves. And we’re not talking about the old 8300 models either.

BGR has gottent a first look at BlackBerry Desktop Manager 4.3. They haven’t give it the full once over, however, indicated that it appears to be just a visual enhancement.

Magmic Games and Hudson Entertainment have struck a deal that will bring several of Hudson Entertainment’s popular mobile titles to the BlackBerry. The agreement will include the popular Super Bomberman franchise.
Under the terms of the agreement, Magmic obtains the exclusive, worldwide rights to publish several popular Hudson Entertainment mobile titles for play on BlackBerry and Windows Mobile devices. The titles will be made available directly to consumers at Magmic.com and Bplay.com, Magmic’s BlackBerry and Windows Mobile direct-to-consumer portals, as well as through Magmic’s distribution partners.

Research in Motion has recently filed a really cool patent application entitled Advanced Voice and Data Operations in a Mobile Communications Device.
The abstract details:
A system and method for integrating voice and data operations into a single mobile device capable of simultaneously performing data and voice actions. The mobile device working in a network capable of exchanging both cell phone calls and data items to the mobile device. By wearing an earphone or an ear-bud device the user is capable of dealing with voice conversations while working with data centric information related to the current caller. By providing a data-centric device with voice capabilities there is a new range of features that allow incoming data events to trigger outgoing voice events.
In plain English… You can talk on your BlackBerry and send email at the same time.
This should completely eliminate these type of calls. “Let me hang up and send it to you and I will call you right back.“
