RIM finally decides to stick a digital camera and MP3 into the BlackBerry

by Robb Dunewood on February 27, 2006 · 2 comments

According to Bloomberg.com BlackBerry founder and Research in Motion co-CEO, Mike Lazaridis, is planning to add digital cameras and MP3 functionality into the the BlackBerry.

All I can say is… Rant coming. It’s about time! I am sure that I am going to be flamed and told that I am not a true BlackBerry fan or CrackBerry Addict as we are sometimes called for wanting such trivial novelties that will do nothing but cheapen the BlackBerry, make it more buggy because of the new features that you really won’t, and confuse government agencies because the now have to make a choice between BlackBerry models that they have been using for years with no problems and newer consumer oriented BlackBerries with cameras and heaven forbid, possibly even removable memory that could be lost or even stolen.

I understand there being some models that have it, but I hope they don’t start putting them in every new model for the sake of those of us who work places where camera cell phones are not allowed.
