RIM soon to release native IM clients for BlackBerry

According to BlackBerry Forums Super Moderator, jibi, Research in Motion will start implementing native instant messaging clients for MSN Messenger, AIM, and ICQ quite possibly by the end of the year.

It appears most of these are almost final, and carrier implementation should start at some point (likely before year end). I’m going to guess that the MSN client is released first, followed by the AIM and ICQ clients (these should be released at the same time).

Lets just say that these native clients are long over due. Yahoo Messenger and Google Talk have been available for some time.

According to jibi over on BlackBerry Forums these clients will be from RIM.

I wonder also if since the apps will be developed from RIM if it will pull from the data or the text packages.

awesome. hopefully it will work like the google talk implementation, which is super elegant… active convos show in your inbox… that would be ideal

These applications will be very similar to the Yahoo and Google Talk clients currently available from RIM. They will use data packages and not text messages, just like the current YIM and GT clients.
