When it comes to a well built, well designed smart phone BlackBerry has always presented a beautiful device. One of my most favorite designs was the BlackBerry Bold 9900. That device just had luxury all over the build of the phone and still to this day I marvel at how beautifully built the 9900 was and still is.

With the release of BlackBerry 10 along came the Z10, this design was smooth and basic. All black with a  with nice rounded edges and as an introductory phone for BB10 it proved to be one that would catch the eye and have people saying things like, “that’s a BlackBerry?”

After the initial launch of BB10 then came the BlackBerry Q10. Now coming from the Bold 9900 and the Q10 on target to be my 1st BB10 physical keyboard device, I was more than satisfied with the design. The form factor, size, color and the detail in between the keys just made me fall instantly in love with the Q10. The smooth rounded edges and carbon back plate made this phone an instant beauty.

After the Q10 was released, BlackBerry then released its second physical keyboard device the Q5. The BlackBerry Q5 to me was like a little sister to the Q10 but just as pretty. The Q5’s face stood out more and the keyboard design was different which added a nice flare to the overall design of the device.

Then came the awesome BlackBerry Z30. Much bigger than the Z10, the Z30 proved to be a head turner that caught the eye of all that was blessed to have laid their eyes on this device. The Z30 has to be in my top 3 BlackBerry phones ever built.

It was recently announced that the BlackBerry Z30, Q10 and Q5 have won 3 Red Dot Awards for high quality design and build. These phones will be recognized at the Red Dot Awards Gala in Essen, Germany.

Congratulations BlackBerry, this award is well deserved.
