The BlackBerry Storm, deservedly so, has received much criticism going back to before the device was even released.  Even the SurePress touchscreen technology was criticized, primarily because it didn’t work like an iPhone.

I bet a lot of BlackBerry Storm critics, especially those who’ve never used a BlackBerry Storm, questioned how the Storm’s SurePress Screen could have been a nominee in the Global Mobile Awards 2009 Best Mobile Technology Breakthrough category.

I bet they’ll be shocked when they find out that it won…

RIM still has kinks to work out with the BlackBerry Storm.  Recently leaked OS updates have come a long way to address many of those kinks.  When it comes to SurePress, however, the BlackBerry Storm’s screen may be lot better than you think.
