BlackBerry 8700t

Has the T-Mobile BlackBerry 8700t err aah 8700g been officially released?

April 12, 2006 by Robb Dunewood 3 Comments

If you take a look at the UShopWireless website, it would appear that the BlackBerry 8700g from T-Mobile is available here in the U.S., is in stock, and if ordered by today will set you back only $99 with a $100 mail-in rebate.

For the longest time we thought that the T-Mobile branded 8700 series device would be tagged the BlackBerry 8700t, however, as with T-Mobile UK, T-Mobile here in the States went with the BlackBerry 8700g.

What will the Model Number be?

March 22, 2006 by Robb Dunewood 4 Comments

We’ve heard a lot of reliable rumors that T-Mobile will be releasing their branded BlackBerry 8700 here in the U.S. in just a few weeks, however, the jury is still out on what the model number will be.

Will it be the BlackBerry 8700t? Will it be the Blackberry 8700g? We have been asking this question for a while. Looks like we will find out around April 13th for sure.

Will T-Mobile release the 8700g or a new 8700t in the U.S.

January 28, 2006 by Robb Dunewood 1 Comment

It was announced last week that T-Mobile is bringing the BlackBerry 8700g to the UK. The rumor mill has it that the there will be an announcement about a BlackBerry 8700 series device in the U.S. Feb. 2nd. The question, however, is will the U.S. based device be called a BlackBerry 8700g like in the UK, or, will a new BlackBerry 8700t model be introduced?

Many assumed, myself included, when T-Mobile releases a BlackBerry 8700 series device it would be named the BlackBerry 8700t. I think it was a logical assumption because both 710x series BlackBerry devices from T-Mobile are named with a “t”. The mold has been broken with T-Mobile UK announcing last week that it will introduce the O2 variant Blackberry 8700g (The “g” stands for global)

Honestly, I don’t think that it will matter much. BlackBerry 8700t or Blackberry 8700g, T-Mobile will have plenty of new subscribers waiting to get the new device and nearly as many old subscribers wanting to upgrade.

Unlocked BlackBerry 8700 on T-Mobile

January 15, 2006 by Robb Dunewood 22 Comments

About a month ago we asked if a BlackBerry 8700t was on the way, but since then, have only heard rumors that we haven’t been able to confirm. Many CrackBerry addicts, however, that want to use a BlackBerry 8700 on the T-Mobile network aren’t necessarily waiting for T-Mobile to release their branded BlackBerry 8700t. Instead, their buying BlackBerry 8700c devices, unlocking them, and using them on the T-Mobile network.

Is a BlackBerry 8700t from T-Mobile on the way?

December 15, 2005 by Robb Dunewood 5 Comments

The T-Mobile BlackBerry 8700g has been released

There is a rumor floating around that T-Mobile will be coming out with their branded version of the BlackBerry 8700 in Feb/March time frame. A BlackBerry Forums member sat next to a Research in Motion executive with an unbranded BlackBerry 8700. “I asked him how much it would take to have him remove his SIM and sell me his device… to no avail.”

The BlackBerry Forums member was able to get the the Feb/March launch timeframe and one other piece of information that deserves it’s own post. According to the RIM executive, there will be a consumer version BlackBerry that will have a camera and MP3 coming out in Q3. I find this one a bit harder to believe but time will definately tell.
