There is an interesting report coming from Endgadget stating that the BlackBerry Storm3 9570 has been cancelled.

It could still launch somewhere, but it won’t be on Verizon, apparently — and considering that it was shaping up to be an ever-so-slightly-retuned Storm2, we can’t say we blame them.

There has been a lot of speculation that the BlackBerry Storm 9570 wasn’t going to be called the Storm3, but, be a refreshed version of the BlackBerry Storm2. Whatever the name, it looks like the device has been cancelled…

This will be an issue for more Verizon BlackBerry users than you think…

There is no doubt that the BlackBerry Storm is the most hated BlackBerry of all time, however, there are a ridiculous number of BlackBerry Storm and Storm2 users (millions), and many, like myself, can’t comprehend going back to a BlackBerry without a touchscreen.  This poses a bit of a problem for RIM.

Every BlackBerry Storm user that bought a BlackBerry Storm when it first came out and stuck it out is coming up on the end of their 2-year contract.  My guess is that if you’ve been using a BlackBerry Storm for 2-years, moving to another BlackBerry without a touchscreen will be difficult.  So difficult that many Storm and Storm2 users that can’t get a Strom3, Storm2 Refresh, or whatever the 9570 would have been designated  might just move to Android.
