RIM constantly has issues with BIS, it goes down almost on a daily basis for at least an hour (most people probably wouldn't notice it).
I agree rim does need to do something like spread out their data centres to help with issues such as these and other outages that happened in the past.

It was a RIM issue and not a carrier issue. Confirmed reports of all 4 major carriers in the US effected, so don't be jumping on his back saying it was just a carrier issue.
Probably RIM's way of saying "F You" to all of us who got our 8320's before the official 24th launch date!

If, as you say, this was a BIS problem then anyone on a BES won't be affected and surely any Fortune 500 would be running a BES?

If it is a NOC problem then that would affect all. However, it's ok in the UK. I think that Europe has it's own NOC.

No issues with Tmob. Data and emails are running fine, and have been all day. Not a BB issue if it's just a single carrier.

I just don't think it's logical for a company to promise that something like a technology malfunction will never happen again. Just admit you were at fault and swear you'll do better next time.

No problems here in Australia. My understanding is that there are currently two RIM relays. One in Canada & one in the USA. Over the past twelve months I have heard of outages but they have not effected our services here in Australia.

Besides i wouldn't call 3 outages in 12 months a catastrophe. That's the nature of the technology beast (even with redundant architecture in place to fail over services). As they say, $h1t happens.
