Zimbra, an open-source alternative to Microsoft Exchange that was acquired by Yahoo last September, now supports BlackBerry Enterprise Server.

Zimbra joins the likes of Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Notes, and Novell Groupwise becoming only the fourth corporate email system to offer BES Support.

As professionals use groupware like Zimbra (whether sold by Yahoo, MS or whomever) to draft and negotiate legal and business transactions, issues will arise regarding record retention and discovery in litigation.

Yeah, Zimbra is a Microsoft Exchange and Google Apps competitor. Can be used SaaS through a hosting provider, they have a list including 01.com, and can also be installed on premise, so orgs can run it themselves, either an open-source free version, or a paid, more sophisticated commercially supported version.
