I have the Storm.

It is not living up to the hype and I have gone over the phone for 7 days.

The camera is terrible, the OD has more bugs in it than a roach infested crack house, and I cannot even use bluetooth with it: it locks up the sound system and you have to pull the battery.

I cannot wait for this product to mature, since I ahve a business to run. Back it goes.

I agree that it’s a good possibility RIM may release a “slider” style of phone…why not? They’ve done just about every other style by now anyway.

However, at this point, I’m ready to try out the Storm and see exactly what RIM has produced, and I don’t even want to think about the next model…I’ve been overloaded on rumors and just want to enjoy what’s available now.

Also, one wonders if the economic crises hitting the world will in any way slow down the development and introduction of new models? I don’t think that would necessarily be bad…at some point it’s useful to just allow consumers to catch their breath and absorb what’s already out there.

A sliding keyboard would be interesting and I’m all for it, but not if it was the size of the ‘Tilt’. As much as I love my BB, I’m not willing to carry a brick. I’d rather stick to my Pearl and go on my merry way. Outside of me breaking them, the Pearl has performed well for me. If it carried additional memory, or at least let me store my contacts, emails, etc. on the memory card, then I may not be all that hyped about the Storm. But I certainly understand why they don’t let you store that info on the card, and it all comes down to security and administration. Can’t wipe out a card remotely.

But yeah…would be interesting to see how they approach a slide out keyboard device.
