hey does anyone think that this phone will help fill in the gaps between Verizons all over network and tmobils less than all over network? with all the wifi hot spots maybe with that phone you can make more calls in more places than at&t and or Verizon. hmmm?

SIP is the biggest reason for me. In the 8820 RIM has enabled UMA, so that is very useful.

To have one phone number. Unlimited calling when at home, and the same mobile number when out and about.

My BB is first a phone, and second, a personal information manager. The integration of the 2 is where the power is, for my usage. I don’t subscribe to ridiculously expensive data plans ($30/month on AT&T, or $50/month to get the equivalent data plan to the $20 iPhone plan). When working, I am almost always where there is Wifi, so using it for data only at those times is ideal.

Had a Nokia E61, and used it exactly that way. Synced at home, work and Panera!

I, and many of my Blackberry friends, are looking forward to using it in conjunction with T-Mobile@Home. I live in a rural area and get no service in the house!
