Pidgin is written in C. BB uses Java so its hard to port it on BB. But you can use Pidgin + Forward2Mobile (http://code.google.com/p/forward2mobile/) Plugin on your PC and you can have all advantages including mutiple network support using your favorite IM client on BB.

I agree with those who use IM+. I find it very stable and useful for integrating various IM providers. I have 4 integrated and they all work well. I also has an off-line mode for pushing text over to SMS when not in active mode (as an option). It's not free, but my experience has been that free is not always the best nor is it an incentive for developers. If I pay for an app, then I have a reason to complain.

ive tried IM+ and beejive. i like beejive but i wouldnt want to pay. IM+ kinda sucked and only let you go on one.. not all 3 (aim, yahoo, msn). i also tried ebuddy but its kinda laggy and has some bugs. im really hoping rim makes aim available, or a multi messenger app. thats really all i need.
