Is it just me, or does RIM’s marketing team have a thing for DJs and musicians…

Generally I’d never comment but this one struck a nerve for some odd reason. RIM needs to re-market their devices to the mass public and that is a hard task for them to do. Apple’s iPhone is the gold standard on how to market a device – show what it can do…plain and simple. Show the functionality and why “I” must have this phone and how it will change my life when “I” get this phone. When I see a BlackBerry commercial the device comes across as trying to be too cool for school. I don’t want hip and edgy…I want a phone that has a very easy user interface and can do 100000 of cool things. I want to surf the internet and download music and play music, and take pictures and get my email and do so much more.  BlackBerry, going off of their commercials, will only let me use BBM with other BlackBerry users and take pictures. This is a company with a major identity crisis and no one will remember who they were….only who they have become.

      I’m glad you did comment…

I know that RIM has a new CEO and that they are trying to make changes, but, it just seems like the company is out of touch with what people want in smartphones today…
