What Apps Does BlackBerry 10 Have to Have In Order To Be a Contender?

August 22, 2012 by BlackBerry Hank 9 Comments

With so much debate over the supposedly lack of apps on BlackBerry devices and the future release of BlackBerry 10, what apps does BB10 need in order to compete with the droids and iPhone’s on the market?

This has been a heated debate so I thought I’d stir the pot here at RIMarkable and see what the community thinks. Regardless of what apps are on or off BB10 at launch there is no doubt I will be one of the first ones rocking the New BB10 Super Phone.

Let us know what apps you feel that BlackBerry 10 must have at launch for success, we would love your feedback.

Must haves are Gmail, FlipBoard, Facebook, Twitter, Google Voice, Google Maps, Google Reader, and Evernote. I personally wouldn’t make through the first hour of my day if any of those apps aren’t present.

Truthfully, RIM needs to make sure that the top 15 to 25 apps that you can get on both Android and iOS are there at launch.

I think that RIM should have a full suite of Apps from Google such as Gmail, Google Maps, Google Voice, Google Drive. Google Reader, YouTube etc.

It will also need to support the popular social media apps like Facebook, Twitter, and Foursquare.

I think Aaron hit the nail on the head by saying BlackBerry 10 needs to support the top 15 to 25 cross platform apps out for both Android and iOS.

Why don’t they just make a Google phone that runs nothing but Google apps?
I am a Google user from G mail, Voice, Calender, Plus , Maps , Drive all that.
Facebook check , Twitter check, Foursquare check, Plus check and many more will be there. I cant wait , we need something fresh and new.
