Good point Verizon User. As I reread the press release I noticed that mdog qualified being first by saying that they were the first to "comprehensively mobilize these popular sites".

You know what they say, the best way to make a false statement true is to make it subjective.

My use of Wikipedia on my Blackberry for the last few months via http://wikipedia.7val.com must have just been a vivid dream, since mdog is the "first" to offer this service.

Kidding aside, the 7val service is better, since it parses the wikipedia entry intelligently and presents links to the important sections. The mdog presentation is not nearly as good.
