Bing sucks. Storm 2 sucks. Battery spends as much time out of the phone as in. I am going to rename it "loading images while dropping calls". And, the really neat feature is when you do use Google, (2 steps required) the screen digitizes, shuts down and does an auto reboot. But what I really like is when I bring up the number keypad to dial, it displays letters. What a feature. And since I have DISH network with SLING, I will just get that app to I can watch my TV on my phone like my buddies with Droids or Iphones do. Oops, oh wait, RIM doesn't support that. Friends - advice, sell you RIM stock if you have any. These people are clueless.

I'm not a Blackberry user, but I've been watching with interest ( and some horror) as Google and Microsoft face off in a war for money and power ( as all wars are about). It's pretty obvious to me that Microsoft is using it's "new" Bing to try and knock Google out of the park. Watch as every company or program associated with the internet in any way rapidly assumes which " side" they are on, so they won't get eaten too! Bing was "snuck" onto my own computer by a messenger update and I'm now trying to figure out how to get messenger and Bing OFF my computer for good because I am fed up. Makes one want to go back to writing snail mail and phoning people from a land line, but that would be throwing the baby out with the bathwater. Us being the babies.

How can consumers speak up and make anything change? I'm flummoxed. Any ideas? I could advise Blackberry users to end their contracts with Verizon, siting the fact that Verizon has now violated it's contract with users. But I am well aware that many people run their businesses and livliehoods with Blackberries and can't afford that kind of sacrifice for a questionable gain.

I'm in the process of switching over my emails to another server in the next few weeks. Probably won't help anything, but it might make me feel less helpless. By the way I'm not thrilled with Google anymore either, since they took over Blogger.com and Facebook and none of the three have ANY customer service!

This isn't the first time Verizon decided that it was their right to take control of the hardware they sold to customers, but it may be the last time it happens to me. I'm considering a switch to AT&T over it.

I had conversation twice with VZW and the latest this weekend. The Customer Service "Supervisor" claimed BB was pushing it out, not VZW. So, they are working on their lies to tell people.....

Deleting Bing from the service book will only get it off the Tour and most other BBs until the next time you have to do a hard boot by pulling the battery. When the phone comes up, it is there again.

Deleting the service book only gets rid of it until you next update the service
books. If you do a battery pull, for example, it will come right back.
I had a back-and-forth exchange with a tech support woman at Verizon about this.
I actually am surprised she answered me and went back and forth with me for a while.

But no matter how they spin it, putting Bing on my phone and not letting me
get rid of it is unacceptable. I've gotten several calls from Verizon recently trying
to get me to upgrade to a new phone. I tell them, "Until you let me get rid of Bing, I'm never buying another phone, and when my 2-year contract expires, if you haven't gotten rid of it, I'm switching carriers."
... then there's a long silence, ...

If enough people tell them how mad they are over this, they might let us
delete it. But I doubt it. Verizon made a deal with the Devil (Microsoft).
They agreed to tank the other search tools and shove Bing onto out phones.
That's how Microsoft works. Don't make a better product. Don't give
us a choice. Strong-arm us into having only one choice.

Bing is terrible. It keeps getting pushed to my BB repeatedly. This is why I have a BB and Mac, not PC or Windows mobile phone. Verizon, please get Microsoft off my BB!

I'm unhappy with this "cramdown" as well. I'll probably go by an iphone and cancel verizon. I have managed to disable it, though. I clicked on the icon and when the terms and conditions screen came up I checked "do not agree". I then deleted the icon and the service book and so far it has not come back. It's been three days - so far so good.
