I'm going to keep my Curve on VZW for now because at least it works, but I'm going to pickup an iPhone tomorrow and see if I can tolerate AT&T's service. Last time I tried them three years ago all I got was dropped calls and voice mails a day late...and we live in a huge metro area with five-bars all the time. There really is something to VZW's claim of the best network. At the end of the day these types of deals benefit the manufacturers immensly as they are not the ones subsidizing the cost of their hardware. Trust me, RIM gets paid for every BlackBerry Verizon sells regardless of it if was paid for or subsidized 100%. My guess is that it is time to buy a bit of RIM stock.
