I am beyond excited.

Tour will be my new tech obsession for the next…till another one comes out….

The Tour will most definitely sell since like everyone is saying….they want their keyboard back.

And Malcolm good points you made about the numbers in sales.

I really think VZW should not go all out marketing this phone. Viral marketing has been their strongest point. I do like to refer to the sales they had when the Curve came out. It was strictly online viral marketing. Save those advertising $$$ VZW, us fans are ALL waiting for this baby to pop out.

It is true that there are more BlackBerry devices available to T-Mobile and AT&T, however, it is also true that most BlackBerrys in the United States are CDMA.

I am in the middle of writing a white paper on mobile trends and some of the research I’ve done shows that AT&T has a very small percentage lead over Verizon in total BlackBerry sales, however, when you look at all the nationwide carriers grouped by network technology; Verizon, Sprint, and Alltel on CDMA in contrast to , AT&T and T-Mobile on GSM, CDMA; BlackBerry users outnumber GSM BlackBerry users by double digit percentage points.

I am saving specific numbers for my white paper but it is safe to say that it really isn’t even close and the gap is widening.

The 8230, 8330, 8130, 8830, and of course the 9530 certainly could give the Tour a run for the “best” title if there is such a thing.

As for “best” network…. Rim make most of their phones for the “best” network which just happens to also be the open, global standard. In fact most Rim BB’s run on a certain US GSM network and that is no magical coincidence. The 9000, 8900, 8220, 8110, 8120, 8310, 8320, 8820, 8300, 8800, 8100, and of course the old proven warhorse the 8700 all made by RIM and available for use on the open, global network.

Fear not big red is upgrading to the open, global network soon too. However “best” will still be different for everyone.
