Verizon BlackBerry Storm OS Update “Officially” Available Today At Noon

December 5, 2008 by Robb Dunewood 10 Comments

Even though you’ve been able to get BlackBerry Storm OS 4.7.0.75 since Monday word on the street is that it will become officially available from Verizon’s OTA at 12 Noon.

You will also be able to download BB OS 4.7.0.75 from Verizon’s site after 6:00 p.m.

I just checked and I see nothing as well. Makes me wonder are we talking 12 EST or PST. Time zones get you everytime

I heard it would be in the ‘afternoon’, not at 12 noon, but I’ve also heard that we may not see the update until Monday. Many rumors flying around, but either way I think we’ll see something relatively soon.

I downloaded it from the “unofficial” site. Worked fine. No issues. Battery life is certainly better. That was an issue I had with the previous firmware.

You can update to .75 via Desktop Manager now, and at 9:30pm PST today via OTA.

Couldn’t wait for the OTA update to test and see how that worked…so I did the download. Nice. MUCH faster. Able to fly through emails, delete, etc. Nice bump up. Going to play with it for a few days before giving it some final thoughts, but first impression is very noticeable.

Wooo…problems with voice mail. Indicators not appearing until much later. Been on the phone with support and we’ve been getting varying results. Opening up a ticket on this…

I agree, it’s a huge step better than .65. Not quite as good as .76. Or maybe I’m imagining things 🙂
