I think comparing it to the 8100 which has been out for GSM since it was released in Q3 of 2006 is ok, but better to compare the 8130 to the BB Pearl 2 which should be out shortly.

It’ll be good to keep a eye on those features and spec’s RIM has listed for the 8130 and see which features and spec’s verizon allows it’s customers to have on their 8130’s, and which verizon removes and cripples.

If it is going to be the 8130, RIM already has all the spec’s.
You can even compare it to the 8100.

Although it looks like it is going to be a little different. I am guessing the big things will be improvements like the battery cover and external SD card slot.
I guess Thanksgiving will turn into Thanksgetting for a lot of us!

verizon’s web page is like waving raw meat. Having a decent phone such as the BB Pearl finally coming it to the cdma network is working the vealots into a frenzy, like good sheep following verizon’s commands. What will be interesting is having the spec’s to compare the family of Pearls.

I don’t think that it is being released. Just announced. All the rumors point to it coming out sometime between the end of the month and Thanksgiving.
