I haven't bought a 8320 because it doesn't have SIP, and that is the only reason I'm not on a blackberry yet. I've just seen a Nokia E61i which handles SIP well without any 3rd party software. I'm not interested in a camera in any direction, but if the BB 9000 has proper SIP/VoIP (NOT skype or voice over MSN/gmail etc) I'd be interested.

Would be nice if they could incorporate VOIP into their phones, but it would be nice to make voip calls directly from the phone rather than use third party apps.that would make it all the more interesting, given the fact that it may be trying to copy out apples design, fact remains that RIM still came out with the initial arch. Been following this for a few years and started using it for both personal and office use and find that its a hell of a way to keep in touch with both family and friends regardless of everything.using a BB isn't a lifestyle, its a way of life.

I really don't think this device is going to have a front-facing camera. This <a href="http://advice.cio.com/al_sacco/rim_blackberry_9000_sneak_peek_front_facing_camera_videoconferencing" rel="nofollow">blog post list a few good reasons</a> why.

That sure would be cool, though...

Personally, I don't care how the device really looks provided it works well and does everything I need it to do. But I don't think a camera in the front is going to do it for me. Not everyone will have the capability to do the same on the other end, and it's a cell phone, not the device that I'd rely on for important conference calls unless on the road with no other choice. If they jacked up the memory, then I'd be interested.

How exactly does anyone really know that this is really the new BB 9000? RIM could just be putting this image out to throw people off..And how does anyone really know that it will be "9000"? I mean they went from the 8700, to the 8300...And then again maybe I don't know what the heck I'm talking about....:)~

<blockquote>it kind of looks like RIM is trying to create an iPhone with a keyboard.</blockquote>

And failing miserably.

Just from this image, it looks like the device attempts to borrow some of the looks of the iPhone. The screen, the icons, the rounded edges with the metallic border around the device...it kind of looks like RIM is trying to create an iPhone with a keyboard.

That's not necessarily bad, but it is fascinating to me to see them follow the iPhone's lead in design.

This looks to be a very cool device.

Meh. Still not enough to get my to dump my Curve, seeing as how I just got it last October.

3G is nice, but the speed doesn't count for much with the crappity BB browser.

Color me unimpressed.
