BlackBerry Storm 9520 Comming Soon To Vodafone Germany

To our knowledge Research in Motion still hasn’t officially announced the BlackBerry Storm 9520, however, this hasn’t stopped Vodafone Germany from listing the GSM version of the BlackBerry Storm2 on their website.  I am starting to believe that an official announcement is imminent.

Vodafone BlackBerry Storm 9520 Accessory SKUs

Although rumors are indicating a late September – mid October launch window for the BlackBerry Storm 2, we still don’t have an official release date, or, even an official announcement claiming that the BlackBerry Storm 2 is coming at all.  This, however, hasn’t prevented Vodafone from preparing to sell accessories for their branded BlackBerry Storm 9520 whenever the device does get officially announced then released.

As you can see by the picture above Vodafone has SKUs for a BlackBerry 9520 Charging Pod and a 3 Pack of 9520 Skins in their inventory system.  Hopefully it won’t be too long before we see SKUs for an actual BlackBerry Storm 9520 show up…

Pocket-lint has confirmed that BlackBerry Enterprise Server support is now being “officially” offered to Vodafone subscribers on the BlackBerry Storm starting Monday, Dec. 8th.

If you are scratching your head pondering, “Couldn’t you already hook your Vodafone BlackBerry Storm up to BES”, you would be correct in thinking that you could, however, this was only after you coverted your plan over to one that supports BES.  Additionally, Vodafone wasn’t offering any direct to business sales.

It looks like, however, all that is about to change…

Vodafone BlackBerry Storm May Be Free…

by Robb Dunewood on October 9, 2008 · 0 comments

So, the word on the street is the Vodafone isn’t planning to charge you anything for the BlackBerry Storm if you sign up to an 18 month contract that would run you roughly $70 per month.

This should give the iPhone, which initially costs about $200 up front and roughly $65 per month, a real run for its money.

I’d be willing to bet that the question in the minds of many of you that are reading this post is…

Will The Verizon BlackBerry Storm Be Free?

Although Vodafone holds a 45% stake in Verizon my guess is that the Verizon BlackBerry Storm will cost at least the $199 that the iPhone costs and probably a bit more.
