Amazon Kindle for BlackBerry

It’s been almost a year since Amazon introduced Kindle for BlackBerry and they’ve finally released an update.  Not sure what all version 1.0.2.1 fixes, however, it does add support for more BlackBerry devices which BlackBerry owners have been clamoring for since it first came out.

Kindle for BlackBerry isn’t a replacement for the Kindle, but, is a great alternative when you are in a place where reading my help pass the time, but, your Kindle is not handy.

Kindle for BlackBerry is a free download and you can pick it up by heading to http://amazon.com/kindlebb from your device.

Kindle for BlackBerry

It was back at the beginning of January when we first heard that Amazon was working on Kindle for BlackBerry.  It’s roughly 6 weeks later and the application is now available.

You can pick up Kindle for BlackBerry up OTA by pointing your device’s browser to http://www.amazon.com/kindlebb.

Kindle App For BlackBerry

The Amazon Kindle and eBook readers in general where a big hit this holiday season.  eBooks actually outsold real books for the first time and I believe this will be a trend that continues.  As convenient, however,  as reading a book on a device like the Kindle is in comparison to physical books, there are times when you simply won’t have your Kindle with you.  This is one of the reasons that I think, like the Kindle for iPhone app, Kindle for BlackBerry will be a big hit.
