EarPrint App For BlackBerry Offers Ridiculous Management Options For The Sound ID 510 Bluetooth Headset

December 2, 2010 by Robb Dunewood Leave a Comment

Sound ID has released a new BlackBerry application called EarPrint which appears to be a Sound ID 510 Bluetooth Headset management app on steriods.  EarPrint is similar to the Jawbone Battery Meter for BlackBerry app, however, EarPrint does much, much more than just tell you how battery life you have left.

EarPrint features include:

  • PersonalSound™ – With the free EarPrint app, users can customize and save listening preferences via Personal Sound. While on a call, simply drag the ID icon across the phone screen to change the audio parameters and enhance the listening levels.  Choose the audio parameters for three listening modes: Phone, Music and Pass-Thru.
  • Pass-Thru – Enhances hearing ability so soft surrounding sounds can be heard while wearing the headset  and not on a call.
  • Visual Battery Indicator – Provides battery life status.
  • Find Me – Help to locate a missing 510 – press the “Find Me” icon on the phone and the headset will start emitting a beeping sound and the LED will begin to flash.
  • Sound Level Meter – Provides audio details in real-time so users know when sound reaches levels that could potentially damage hearing.
  • In Call Tools – Allows users to have the green LED flash when on a call or remain off.

I haven’t personally used the Sound ID 510 Bluetooth Headset, but, I have heard pretty good reviews.  I may have to check one out myself and give it the once over if for no other reason than to test out the Find Me feature in EarPrint.

Aliph Jawbone Icon “The Hero” Bluetooth Headset Review

May 3, 2010 by Robb Dunewood 4 Comments

The Jawbone Icon from Aliph is the 4th and latest in the line of Bluetooth headsets known for their noise cancellation technology.  The Icon has actually been on the scene for several months, however, Aliph just recently added A2DP to Icon allowing you to play streaming audio, music, and podcasts, etc. through the headset. Since I haven’t talked about the Jawbone Icon before I figure that this would be a good time to give it a proper review.

With that being said, let’s get to it…

Review: BlueAnt Q1 Voice Controlled Bluetooth Headset

April 29, 2010 by Rod 11 Comments

To say I was excited to get the BlueAnt Q1 to review would be an understatement. I’ve been looking for a Bluetooh headset that would support A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) because I listen to podcasts quite often but don’t always have my wired stereo headsets with me. BlackBerry HS-655 Bluetooth Headset

September 7, 2006 by Robb Dunewood 17 Comments

It looks like the BlackBerry Pearl isn’t the only new gadget that Research in Motion is unveiling today. Under the Accessories section of the BlackBerry Pearl website, you will see a sweet looking little earpiece called the BlackBerry HS-655 Bluetooth Headset…

From what we can tell, the BlackBerry HS-655 Bluetooth Headset which features Digital Signal Processing or (DSP) technology from Plantronics, is actually a BlackBerry branded and color-schemed version of the Plantronics Discovery 655 Bluetooth Headset.

I personally use the Plantronics Discovery 645 and love it so would think that if the 655 works as well as my 645 does for me, that the BlackBerry version, the HS-655, will be a heck of a headset. It is very small and light weight at only 9 grams and fits comfortably in your ear with or without the earclip. It also has three different size ear gels to make sure the fit is just right.

I was going to upgrade to the Discovery 655 but know that I know that RIM has a BlackBerry branded version, I will try to get a BlackBerry HS-655…
