Where for BlackBerry Storm

Where is now available for the BlackBerry Storm.  What is Where, you ask?

WHERE™ is a location-based application chock-full of widgets that deliver essential information about what’s around you. Are you looking for the hottest restaurants, jonesing for your next coffee fix, or running dangerously low on gas and need a cheap fill-up? Maybe you just want to connect with some friends. Whatever you’re after, WHERE delivers the best in local information from Eventful, Yelp, GasBuddy, Zipcar, ShopLocal, Starbucks, Buddy Beacon® and more.

CellAvant TalkLock™ For BlackBerry Storm

by Robb Dunewood on December 24, 2008 · 3 comments

One of the issues with the BlackBerry Storm is that the touchscreen stays active when you are on a call and it is not terribly difficult to inadvertently activate applications while the screen is pressed to your face.

I personally use a Bluetooth headset almost all of the time and personally have never done this, or, at least have never noticed that I’ve done it.  It is however, a big enough issue that the folks over at CellAvant have created a free BlackBerry application, TalkLock™, that sovles the problem.

TalkLock™ is a free utility that automatically engages a few seconds after a call is connected, and intercepts touch screen actions. This prevents screen presses from launching programs or invoking functions while you talk.

I just downloaded and installed TalkLock™.  It seems to work thus pretty well thus far.

You can check it out for yourself by simply entering in your email address here
