BlackBerry Curve 8900

We’ve known for a little while now that the BlackBerry Curve 8900 is coming to T-Mobile, however, there really hasn’t been that much chatter about the device coming to AT&T.

At least this was the case until Michael York posted a pic of that he took at the BlackBerry booth a CES on his blog which was picked up by BGR followed by Engadget Mobile, and then pretty much the rest of earth.

Let me start of by saying that no official release date for the launch of the T-Mobile BlackBerry Curve 8900 has been officially announced however the generally agreed upon rumored date is Feb. 11th.

We heard the other day, however, that devices where already starting to show up in stores.  I said then that I had a hard time believing that T-Mobile stores would have inventory well over a month before devices actually went on sale.

Well, today rumors have started floating around that the BlackBerry Curve 8900 will luanch on Jan 26th and that T-Mobile could start taking pre-orders as early as today.  This is absolutely a rumor, but,  seeing how we know devices are in inventory in some T-Mobile stores, this is a rumor that I will follow closely.

If you are reading this post you will definitely want to head over to the new T-Mobile BlackBerry Curve 8900 info page where you can enter to win a BlackBerry Curve 8900 plus 3 months of service from T-Mobile for you and your Fave 5.

If you decide to enter, you will really want to take hard look at the fine print.  The contest says that there will be a winner every day but it looks like the contest entry period is only 24 hours long starting at 12:00 am EST on January 8th and ending at 11:59 pm the same day.

Rumors that the T-Mobile BlackBerry Curve 8900 would be launching on Feb. 11th just started floating around yesterday and reports that device has already started showing up in T-Mobile stores are hitting the web today.

Maybe it is just me, but I am finding it hard to believe that T-Mobile has actually started receiving inventory of the BlackBerry Curve 8900 well over 5 weeks before the device goes on sale.  Could this mean that the device could launch sooner that the 11th or does T-Mobile really plan their launches out?

T-Mobile UK, according to Mobile Industry Review, has announced that the BlackBerry Curve 8900 is available as of today.

We haven’t seen a press release or any mention on T-Mobile UK’s or RIM’s websites, however, it looks like the smallest full QWERTY keyboard BlackBerry ever is available a full week before anyone thought it would be.

We rarely get those type of surprises here in the States…

There is an unlocked BlackBerry Curve 8900 (Javelin) up for acution on Ebay.  The Buy it Now price is $2450.  Seeing how this device will be coming out on T-Mobile Germany in the not to distant future, this is a heck of a premium on a device that will be out in a few weeks.

Well, what do you know…  T-Mobile Germany and RIM have released the BlackBerry Curve 8900 in Germany.  They are making it pretty cheap too…

The BlackBerry Curve 8900 will only set you back EUR 4.95 when you sign up to a two year contract.  I don’t know what the exact conversion to U.S. dollars is, but, I do know that that is somewhere well south of 10 bucks.

If T-Mobile USA or AT&T can get this thing out over here before Christmas and it is less than $10 out the door with a contract, it will sell like mad.

Gizmodo Reviews The BlackBerry Curve 8900 (Javelin)

by Robb Dunewood on October 31, 2008 · 9 comments

Gizmodo got their hands on an AT&T branded BlackBerry Curve 8900. It looks like AT&T will have a big seller on it’s hands…

RIM excels at many things, but keeping secrets ain’t one of ‘em, so we’d eyeballed the BlackBerry Curve 8900 (nee Javelin) quite a bit before this AT&T-branded one dropped in our laps. It’s a Bolder version of the current Curve that improves it in basically every way: Lighter, tighter, but more powerful-and it feels like a phone that was produced in 2008, not when you were still keeping your 2006 resolutions.

Like a lot of BlackBerry users, I can’t wait until the BlackBerry Storm comes out, however, I know that a lot of Verizon subscribers want a new device but would prefer one with a physical keyboard.

I wonder how long it will take Verizon to get the BlackBerry Curve 8930?

I got a couple of emails this morning asking about when the new BlackBerry Curve would be out. I wasn’t quite sure what new Curve they were referring to until I saw this post over on BlackBerry News.

T-Mobile Germany has actually put the BlackBerry Curve 8900, a.k.a. the BlackBerry Javelin, up on their site and they are saying that it will be available in November.
