With the release of BlackBerry App World 3.0 Research in Motion updated the BlackBerry App World home page, and, for a brief time, a mock-up of BlackBerry Messenger for the BlackBerry PlayBook was featured. BlackBerry App World 3.0 updated in Beta Zone
After entering beta 10 days ago, BlackBerry App World 3.0 has been updated and is now available for BlackBerry Beta Zone members.
BlackBerry App World 3.0.0.59 features include:
- UI changes to the background and app details screen
- Further improvements to speed and screen transitions
- Various bug fixes

We’ve known since last week that Research in Motion is getting ready to roll out BlackBerry App World 3.0. The BlackBerry App World webstore has already been updated and RIM has made a few changes to the Vendor Portal as well. A complete overhaul of the web client is coming, and, according to BBNews.pl, this is what it is going to look like.
BlackBerry App World Webstore Redesigned – Now Works With Mac
We first learned a couple of days ago that RIM has started the process of rolling out BlackBerry App World 3.0 with the updating of the Developer Portal. Continuing with the roll out RIM has updated the BlackBerry App World webstore with a completely overhauled design. We should also note that the BlackBerry App World webstore now fully supports Mac as well.
RIM Notifies Vendors That Changes In Preparation For BlackBerry App World 3.0 Happening This Week
Research in Motion sent out a notice to vendors today letting them know that BlackBerry App World 3.0 would soon be rolled out. Phase 1 starts July 6th with a 4-hour maintenance window between 2:00 a.m. and 6 a.m. EST. During this time developers will be unable upload or make changes to their applications.
RIM is adding two new fields to the Vendor Portal:
- Short Description: This is your feature description or your one line sales pitch. Please provide a “short description” of each of your items to make your app more discoverable. We support multilingual short descriptions so you can make your sales pitch more local and relevant to better attract users who speak more languages around the globe.
- Feature Image: You can now upload a featured app image. This is required if you want your application to be considered for feature. It will make your application much more discoverable. Image Specifications: 1920 x 1186 pixel .PNG file.
