T-Mobile has just officially announced the BlackBerry 8800 and it will launch, as previously rumored, next Monday on April 23rd.
The T-Mobile BlackBerry 8800 is pretty much the same as the version that first debuted on Cingular. T-Mobile, more or less, just customize their BlackBerry 8800 with their logo and the popular My Faves program that allows you to set 5 numbers that you can call at any time free of charge.

T-Mobile BlackBerry 8800
There are a couple of rumors floating around that T-Mobile is about to release both the BlackBerry 8800 and the BlackBerry 8300 within the next month with the 8800 coming on the 23rd of April and the 8300 coming on May 7th.
How likely is this? Would T-Mobile release two devices within a couple of weeks of each other? I guess stranger things have happened. Both devices would definitely get a lot of play at WES 2007, the biggest BlackBerry show of the year, however, sales of each device could be cannibalized by sales of the other. Is T-Mobile willing to take that risk?
What do you think? Let us know in the comments…

CrackBerry.com is reporting that the T-Mobile BlackBerry 8800 may be released on April 23rd. They’re calling this a rumor, however it sounds like they’ve heard it from more than one source.
Details are fuzzy at this point but we will let you know as we learn more.
We heard last week that the T-Mobile BlackBerry 8800 8300 would launch on May 7th just in time for WES 2007. I know that T-Mobile customers looking to move to the BlackBerry 8800 just want it to be released soon.

c|net paired the BlackBerry 8800 up against the BlackJack from Samsung in a 5 round Prize Fight where the two mobile devices went head to head in different categories. Unfortunately for RIM, the BlackBerry didn’t put up much of a fight winning none of the rounds losing 4 out of the 5.
I have never really been a fan of the BlackBerry 8800. From the looks of it, the c|net reviewers aren’t big fans of it either.

There have been a lot of different BlackBerry features talked about lately, specifically with regards to the 88XX and 83XX devices. One configuration will have Wi-Fi. Another will have GPS. They may even be a units with both Wi-Fi and GPS. My question to you is if you have to go with Wi-Fi or GPS, which one would you choose?

I think that I may have found the perfect BlackBerry case. Unfortunately for me, however, it is for the BlackBerry 8800.
The Classic for BlackBerry 8800 from Vaja is a a leather case with screen protection that fits the BlackBerry 8800 like a skin. From the looks of it, this leather BlackBerry case will offer great protection for your device while allowing you to place your BlackBerry on your Belt or in your pocket.
I am a BlackBerry in the pocket kind of guy for which most leather cases are too bulky to fit into comfortably. The Classic from Vaja doesn’t appear to have that problem.
I am a BlackBerry 7130e user and have no plans on moving to the 8800, however, if Vaja every makes this case for the 7130e or the Pearl, I will buy one the day they become available.

I take every negative thing that I have ever said about Verizon’s BlackBerry release schedule back. As a matter of fact, I feel kind of foolish for being so negative seeing how the nations second largest carrier has just announced 3 new BlackBerry devices coming out over the next few weeks.
Two of the devices, the BlackBerry Pearl, and the BlackBerry 8830e, our already out on the GSM carriers, however, Verizon will be the first carrier to offer a BlackBerry 8300 device. The 8330e will have a digital camera and GPS, however, will not have Wi-Fi. It will also be the first BlackBerry able to record video.
Thanks to RIMarkable reader Sidd Finch for leaking us this information…

Rogers Wireless BlackBerry users wanting to move to the BlackBerry 8800 have been waiting eagerly for the Canadian based mobile tel-co to release the device with several rumored dates already that have come and passed.
The latest rumored release date for the BlackBerry 8800 on Rogers is April 2nd. I stress that this is just a rumor, as I have not confirmed it, however, I have had a couple of people say it in the comments or via our Contact Us form.
