MiBlackBerry has found a Spanish ad for the BlackBerry 8300, a.k.a., the BlackBerry Curve. It looks like they discovered it on another Spanish language site, MenteSDigitales, that has this to say:
Hello! After some Time without activity (problems with RIM – Blackberry) we plows back! I have made to snapshot of an advertisement that Test&Vote sent me (Test&Vote is to poll network) wich showed that Blackberry 8300 is named now Blackberry Curves!
That “Translate” button on the Google Toolbar sure comes in handy when trying to uncover news about up and coming BlackBerry devices.
BlackBerry Curve
It looks like the BlackBerry websites and message boards are buzzing with news and speculation about the next consumer oriented device from Research in Motion, the BlackBerry 8300, which we just found out today may carry the name BlackBerry Curve just like RIM’s first consumer oriented BlackBerry carries the name Pearl.
One of the big questions about the BlackBerry Curve is which carrier will offer the the device first. We are hearing that it could be T-Mobile, AT&T, or possibly even Sprint, although I find that one kind of hard to believe Sprint could offer any device, let alone a BlackBerry, first.
Who do you think will release the BlackBerry Curve First? There is a lot of good discussion about it going on in the BlackBerry 8300 discussion thread on BlackBerry Forums.
BlackBerry Curve
The folks over at MiBlackBerry have been watching the BlackBerry8300.com domain that was purchased by RIM a few months ago like a hawk. Just the other day a they sent us an email telling us that a Welcome to JBoss page was displayed when you set your browser to www.blackberry8300.com and this last night they sent us another email telling us that the domain name is redirecting visitors to www.BlackBerryCurve.com
Might this mean that, like the BlackBerry 8100 is named BlackBerry Pearl, the BlackBerry 8300 is named BlackBerry Curve? I bet we find out at WES 2007 next week.
BlackBerry 8300, BlackBerry Curve
There are a couple of rumors floating around that T-Mobile is about to release both the BlackBerry 8800 and the BlackBerry 8300 within the next month with the 8800 coming on the 23rd of April and the 8300 coming on May 7th.
How likely is this? Would T-Mobile release two devices within a couple of weeks of each other? I guess stranger things have happened. Both devices would definitely get a lot of play at WES 2007, the biggest BlackBerry show of the year, however, sales of each device could be cannibalized by sales of the other. Is T-Mobile willing to take that risk?
What do you think? Let us know in the comments…
T-Mobile BlackBerry 8800, T-Mobile BlackBerry 8300
There have been a lot of different BlackBerry features talked about lately, specifically with regards to the 88XX and 83XX devices. One configuration will have Wi-Fi. Another will have GPS. They may even be a units with both Wi-Fi and GPS. My question to you is if you have to go with Wi-Fi or GPS, which one would you choose?

I take every negative thing that I have ever said about Verizon’s BlackBerry release schedule back. As a matter of fact, I feel kind of foolish for being so negative seeing how the nations second largest carrier has just announced 3 new BlackBerry devices coming out over the next few weeks.
Two of the devices, the BlackBerry Pearl, and the BlackBerry 8830e, our already out on the GSM carriers, however, Verizon will be the first carrier to offer a BlackBerry 8300 device. The 8330e will have a digital camera and GPS, however, will not have Wi-Fi. It will also be the first BlackBerry able to record video.
Thanks to RIMarkable reader Sidd Finch for leaking us this information…
