When it comes to CDMA wireless carriers in the United States we often forget about Alltel. They usually come out with whatever Verizon and Sprint come out with a month or so later. We can’t say that about the Red BlackBerry Pearl, however.
The BlackBerry Pearl 8130 Red is now available on Alltel’s site. Looks like Alltel, like everyone else, wants to take advantage of the Valentine’s Day rush…

Although Sprint nor Research in Motion has announced it as of yet, a red Sprint BlackBerry Pearl 8130 has been spotted for sale on Amazon.
I guess that Sprint didn’t want to be outdone by Verizon who just announced their Pink BlackBerry Pearl the other day.

Alltel Wireless today announced that they plan to carry the CDMA BlackBerry Pearl 8130 and that it will be available in time for the holidays.
The BlackBerry Pearl 8130 will be a great addition to our smartphone line up, allowing our customers to stay connected, productive and entertained while on the go,” said Brian Ullem, director of device strategy for Alltel Wireless. “This new BlackBerry Pearl 8130 blends multimedia functionality with the BlackBerry® email platform to create a smartphone that exceeds expectations.
Alltel pretty much does whatever Verizon and Sprint do when it comes to BlackBerry devices so them offering the BlackBerry Pearl 8130 doesn’t come as surprise.

The Verizon BlackBerry Pearl which was launched online last week wasn’t supposed to be in stores until this coming Thursday, Nov. 8th. RIMarkable, however, has received several reports of the device being in some Verizon stores and for sale already.
I stopped by a Verizon store yesterday afternoon and they didn’t have it in stock, however, the Verizon employee that I was talking to said they expected their November shipment of devices in today or Monday.
It makes sense that some Verizon stores would receive their BlackBerry Pearls before the 8th to be ready to sell them on the 8th. If you want to get your hands on one a bit early you may just want to stop by your local Verizon store before the 8th and ask.

We heard a rumor that it was going to be launched today, but, now it is official. TELUS has launched the BlackBerry Pearl 8130 in Canada.

Well, the Verizon BlackBerry Pearl was available for pre-order for about 12 hours, however, it is now available for sale. Additionally, Verizon is offering a $50 mail-in rebate on top of the $100 instant online rebate which brings the price of the Verizon BlackBerry Pearl down to $149.99 with a two year contract.
You’ve still got to wait until November 8th to pick the device in the store, however, it appears that the devices are shipping immediately if you buy them online.

The day that many a Verizon BlackBerry subscriber, myself included, has been waiting for is almost upon us. On November 8th, just one week from today, the Verizon BlackBerry Pearl 8130 goes on sale.
As mentioned in our previous post, the Verizon BlackBerry Pearl became available for pre-order today. It will set you back $199 with with a 2-year service plan after a $100 online discount.
