BlackBerry 8100

It looks like Research in Motion is really intends for their new BlackBerry devices to stay on the minds of consumers as they have started giving devices names instead of numbered designations that no one remembers in the first place.

The to be officially announced BlackBerry 8100, according to a leaked press release, will be called the BlackBerry PearlTM. RIM has actually trademarked the name BlackBerry Pearl and so you know that it will be around for a while.

I think that I liked the code name BlackBerry Stealth a bit more, however, actually naming BlackBerry devices is definitely a move in the right direction.

BlackBerry Stealth, BlackBerry Pearl, BlackBerry 8100, CameraBerry

BlackBerry users on Sprint and Verizon, especially, are used to waiting 8 to 10 months, sometimes even more than a year before new BlackBerry devices become available on their CDMA networks. There had been a ray of hope, however, that the recently leaked BlackBerry 8100 cameraphone, a.k.a. the CameraBerry, was going to to come out around the same time as it’s GSRM brethren.

Well, that ray of hope has been dimmed, as one of Russell Shaw’s informants has told him that the BlackBerry 8100 for T-Mobile and Cingular are pretty much ready, however, the Verizon version, and since Verizon and Sprint use the same gear one could assume the Sprint version as well, have experienced some “notable development delays“.

The day that many of us have been waiting for, and some, quite honestly, have been cursing, is finally here. We have pictures of the CameraBerry and as Russell Shaw from BBHub predicted, it will be called the BlackBerry 8100.

The new BlackBerry 8100 series cameraphones which i belielve will become the hottest selling BlackBerrys among consumer oriented gadget freaks will have a microSD slot and multimedia playback in addition to the integrated digital camera that we hope is at least 2.0 megapixels.

Endgaget has a bunch of BlackBerry 8100 Pictures that we have reposted on the next page.
