After RIM’s announcement introducing new BlackBerry 7 smartphones this morning, Sprint followed up with a press release of their own confirming that they will carry both the BlackBerry Bold 9930 and the BlackBerry Torch 9850 on their network. What was interesting about’s Sprint’s announcement, however, is that they won’t offer any new BlackBerry 7 smartphones until fall.
What’s even more interesting is that Verizon has yet to make announcements about their intention to carry the BlackBerry Bold 9930 or BlackBerry Torch 9850. We know that they have plans to carry at least the 9930 as you can find video overviews of the device on their website and it is probably safe to assume that they will carry the Torch 9850 as well. Verizon rarely gets devices after Sprint so I’d be willing to bet that you will see these devices hit their network before Sprint.
