RIM should give us credit for a trade-in, at the store, of our older models, guarantee that they wipe out the information inside. RIM could then refurbish and sell them dirt cheap in countries that are newly opening, like in the Caribbeans. RIM makes wonderful phones, #1 in my opinion. How about leading also with the best recycling program? Can’t help but voice the Environmental Impact of so many phones, every year.

Maybe Greg’s talking about new foundation models like the Curve of Pearl rather than the slew of following variants, but if not, that’s a significant slow-down compared to the pace they’ve set this year. I can't see them popping out 7 different types of phones within' 12 months. They haven't done much outside the Pearl and Curve regarding the consumer market, so I see them adding 'features' to the exixting lines, perhaps adding one or two completely new phones. For instance, this year there were really 2 new model family releases: the 88xx and the 83xx series. However, if you take into acct the different GSM and CDMA versions of their models, and the models with WiFi, you have had the 8800, the 8820, the 8830, the 8300, the 8310, and most recently of course, the 8130 and the 8120.
