RIM Takes Most Operating Profit Share In Cell Phone Industry

RIM Tops In Industry In Operating Profit ShareBlackBerry device sales, although on the rise, still only represent a small fraction of the the total number of cell phones sold each year.  What is really interesting is that even though the percentage of BlackBerrys sold each year is relatively low to handsets in general, that RIM is #1 when it comes to profit taking.

That’s right…  The BlackBerry is not only the most proftitable smartphone, it is the most profitable mobile phone, expected to take 35% industry profits in 2009.  We also have to give props to the iPhone who is expected to take 31% of the profits in 2009.
