RIM Cranking Out 150,000 To 200,000 BlackBerry PlayBooks Per Month

January 30, 2011 by Robb Dunewood Leave a Comment

According to a report by Digitimes, monthly production of Research in Motion’s BlackBerry PlayBook at Quanta’s plant in Taiwan have reached an economic scale of 150,000-200,000 a month with shipments to be ready as early as February. Digitime’s sources are also stating that RIM has required that all BlackBerry PlayBook tablets be built in Taiwan to avoid of being copied by white-box makers in China.

There is still no official release date for the BlackBerry PlayBook, however, much of the speculation points to a February – March launch window.
