I wonder if they fixed the design snafu with respect to the On/Off button. Any pressure against this phone, since it's a bar phone, will turn it on. The "lock" function only works when the power is on. The handset is not locked "off" when it's turned off because there is no switch or button that is not prone to inadvertent pressure when it's in its phone case or a bag or briefcase, or a pocket. This drains the power, not to mention posing the problem of accidentally dialed calls.

The 8130 keyboard doesn't look any different from that of the 8100, which has all these problems. RIM could fix it just by placing the on/off power button on the top of the phone where the mute button is, or making that the dominant, override switch to the front button.

Give Suretype a fair shake? I've had it for over a year now, about how long should I ait before evaluating it? I hate it, and think it sucks. I know thats not everyones opinion, and though it may be best of breed, it isn't good enough for me, i will never be forced to deal with it again.

THATS the point Lordan, each service provider has places where they are good and where they are not so good. The verizon sheep repeating verizon's FUD "its the network" are brain washed, and don't question FUD with reality.

Hellno,

Do you agree that there are places where AT@T and T-Mobile don't get a signal that Verizon does or do you think that if Verizon has coverage, so must AT&T or Verizon.

As I right this, I have no coverage on my iPhone and my girlfriends Sidekick is roaming but I have a 1XEV connection on my work BlackBerry 8830 which is tethered to my laptop and, according to speedtest.net, has a 118K connection.

Am am not suffering from FUD and think Verizon sucks because they don't get the newest phones but I have to be honest and tell you that their network rocks out in the sticks...

I always use my iPhone though when in the city.
