I think the obvious: RIM is just yet another company that wants
to leverage all the benefit$$$ of using Linux in their own
operations, but won’t provide drivers and/or synching support to
second-class users, i.e. those who actually use Linux in their
desktops.

RIM uses linux for many of their servers and they also use open source programming languages for in house use. This is probably why they are hiring “Linux professionals”.

Agreed with the above sentiments. Win Mobile is a pretty lame platform…without the Microsoft clout behind it the OS would die out. As it is, the MS strategy is just to flood the market with WinMo devices. It seems that there is a never ending stream of these units; most are basically the same with slight changes.

What do I think? I think M$ should be worried. With another mobile OS choice available, sales of their bloated, buggy, crap OS, also known as Win Mobile, will dry up. I for one welcome that.
