For those of you who haven’t already heard, Research in Motion is having a planned BlackBerry outage starting tonight, or tomorrow morning depending on how you look at it, for database upgrades which will affect both BIS and BES Users. The planned BlackBerry outage will start a 2:00 a.m. EST May 3rd and last until 6:00 a.m. EST.

I’ve got 8:17am and the BIS service still appears to be down. Anyone else up and running?

Install the Gmail app for BB at http://www.google.com/mobile/mail/index.html
Most of the time this still works when RIM has an outage and you can set Gmail up to “fetch” mail from other accounts. Mine’s been working throughout this outage.
