I called Verizon today and asked them why the are so slow bringing out a new os….again no answer besides we have to test it first….ok we are running .75 and .90 is out allready ….i dont know here we are having the top of the line blackberry and dont get any support from verizon.

Is any one running the .90 on a verizon storm or is europe only using this?

Im currently running my BB Storm out of the box, with .75. I do see several quirks that need to be fixed, but my question is, is does anyone know when Verizon and RIM will be putting out another OS update????

I am currently running .86 and it has made the phone much faster than .75 I didn’t load 85 because of various issues that I had read about but 86 seems to be running great for me. The overall responsiveness of the Storm is faster with improved accelerometer performance. I have noticed that the voice recorder doesnt save properly. Other than that, the Storm running on 86 is a must download until the official update comes out in the next couple of weeks.

I was on .83 and was having significant problems with the device locking up for several seconds. Regardless of the app, a few times a day it would hang and become unresponsive for about 10 seconds. I haven’t seen this at all since applying .86.

The camera also seems more responsive since the update and I no longer get the Media Card Inserted message that I was getting quite freqnently on .83.

I haven’t performed any technical benchmarks by any means but given limited anexdotal evidence, .86 seems to perform quite a bit better than .83.

Let’s not jump to conclusions about how Palm’s device will be. This device is no where near market ready and I would encourage you to approach this device with skeptisism. A completely new OS running on a completely new piece of hardware opens the door for significant challenges.

Let’s not grant Palm any higher status just becaues their new phone “demo’s” well. Wait untill it comes out and we see some real reviews.

Personally I love my storm and the latest .86 update is running fantastic for me.

Palm just showed a new device and it is getting rave reviews.

Now if Palm, given up for dead and with far less resources than RIM, can come up with a new touchscreen device and get the software right, then why couldn’t RIM?

It’s one thing to be outdone by Apple on a touchscreen device…but to be outdone by Palm…that’s embarrassing.

I just installed it. I haven’t notice any big differences over .85, however, I haven’t put it through the paces yet.

I hear that many BlackBerry Storm users and BlackBerry users in general are going with a BlackBerry and an iPod. This is what I do.

I am big fan of the BlackBerry but think that calling the media player in the Storm second rate, would be an insult to second rate MP3 players.

I installed .85 over the weekend and I give it a B+. I can’t tell you what particular bugs have or haven’t been fixed but it is better than .75. It still isn’t as speedy and responsive as I would like…maybe .86 is even better?
