I have been a Nextel user since 1999 and I hate the fact that Sprint has taken over customer service sucks and they are never willing to work with u.... Just wish Nextel would go back to its own company Sprint has taken it apon themselves to close every Nextel store in my area and now i have to go into sprint stores where there employees have no knowledge of the Nextel product or how to use them so of course they would try and sway a customer to the sprint side!!!!! sprint sucks and NEXTEL ROCKS!!!!!!!! even if it takes them some time to come out with new phones at least u can keep a phone like a blackberry 7520 or 7100i for 4 or 5 years! Can u really say that for any sprint phones, att, vzw, or t-mobile there phones barley make it til the end of ur two yr agreement

I guess you can get an AT&T or Verizon PTT phone or Blackberry... Oh wait, its not true PTT. It has about a 30 second delay. While I agree Sprint(CDMA/Nextel(IDEN) has fallen behind with the Smart Device and Customer service, AT&T and Verizon have been putting all the money into advertising and promotions while Sprint(CDMA) has been putting it all in to new Technology. Keep switching to the other guys. While you are stuck with the old technology, dropping calls and coverage, and two year contracts, I will have great coverage, and much fewer dropped calls;-)

Does anyone have any news as to when the new nextel blackberry will finally be released? It seems like an eternity since the above article came out. I keep going the local nextel/sprint vendors to ask them about the release date but they don't know anything. I hope someone out there can help.

It looks like the new Nextel BlackBerry will be a Curve with the the model number BlackBerryy 8350. Still no definitive date on when it is coming out though.

Only reason why I haven't gotten a bb on nextel was becuase i picked up the i870 released 1 week before the i870 b/c Sprint-Nextel couldn't supply enough 7100s. Been waiting to upgrade since my contract ran out 8 onths ago...but i have been waiting to get the bb bold on tmobile or at&t since sprint "sropped" the bb product line (the 7100i was only $99 after discounts no rebates for oer a year...now it's twice that cost and still slow! It's the reason why i lost so many chirp buddies!). The only reason why i may stay with nextel is if this new bb will either be the bold with iden and evdo, it's equilivent, or better. Otherwise, tmo will have 3g up and the bold...and my phone bill will be half the price considering i lost 90% of my chirp buddies as it is...that alone should have made me leave already...that's what i get for hanging on to a name that has already been retiired! Thanks Splint!ALbert

Thank God! I have a 7520 and feel that this has been the single best phone I have ever owned. I hope the kybd is similar on the new model and wifi sounds very sweet. My brothers were on the 7520, one recently switched to a sprint bb model and the signal and call quality stinks. Nextel has very clear audio and a distinct echo in the call (where you can barely hear your own voice in real time) which makes the experince like talking on a land line. Most newer networks don't have this, and it's Annoying. Anyways This is very important to me. I am convinced it's Sprints network and will never switch off of Nextel until the options are exhausted. Sprint has tunnel vision and destroyed what nextel created and put it all in the trash can. Fools. I predicted it too, seems they should have asked the hardcore followers what they thought.
