movyTV Offers Streaming Video For BlackBerry

movyTV, a a streaming mobile media sharing system created by LogoVision Wireless Movidity, has announced that they are expanding their basic codec and streaming technologies for mobile devices to the BlackBerry.

The generic LV Player is a highly optimized, downloadable java midlet, providing optimized video decoding on a BlackBerry smartphone or uses the embedded player. The LV Linux server technologies provide dynamic adaptive bitrate encoding of live or archived multimedia.

movyTV runs on the BlackBerry 8700, 8800, BlackBerry Pearl and BlackBerry Curve.

so does this mean that BB owners are going to be able to watch “live TV” streaming? or just watch streaming video from previously aired segments…?

oh and I added a “W” onto my name cuz my other name, GBVZ, was getting blocked by the spam filter for some reason… we’ll find out if this one gets through…

well It didn’t get through… it’ll only show up once Robb approves it. In that case I’m sticking with this name… I like it better. My above question still stands…

will we be able to watch live streaming TV or just streaming video of previously viewed segments?

Well, since most of these models do not support 3G live TV will be as good as few frames per second. I will wait until RIM releases GSM blackberry with 3G+.
