Microsoft Tag

Many BlackBerry users, especially those using BlackBerry Messenger 5, are already familiar with Mobile Tags, or, QR Codes, as they are properly referred to.  QR codes are a type of  2D barcode that can be scanned by most smartphones and even many feature phones allowing the user to access a website , contact information, product information, pretty much anything.  QR Codes are widely popular in Japan, and, pretty much has become a global standard.

Microsoft has never let global standardization get in the way of “progress”, so, they have introduced their own Mobile Tag technology called Microsoft Tag.

Now, I should say that Microsoft Tag wasn’t just released.  It has actually been around for a while.  It does, however, seem to be catching on lately.  At least here in America…

Doesn’t work on Storm 9530. Bummer. I could tell that this Blackberry version of their software didn’t take to long to develop. I did get a kick from the video when Microsoft uses an iPhone to give an example of a general “smart” phone.
