Microsoft Live Search For BlackBerry Beta Now Available

The battle for search is moving from your browser to your BlackBerry and the latest entrant to the game is Microsoft with their Live Search for BlackBerry Beta which just became available today.

Find out where you can download a copy after the jump.

I am writing this post as I am downloading Live Search Beta, which you can get OTA here. Just point your BlackBerry browser to wls.live.com, select the J2ME download for either the U. S. or the UK, then select the appropriate download for your BlackBerry device.

Even though I have been playing around with a pre-release beta for about a week, I will leave it to the BlackBerry nation to post your reviews of Live Search for BlackBerry here in the comments. Download Live Search for BlackBerry Beta, give it the once over, and let us know what you think. You definitely can’t beat the price.

I just downloaded it and I am not that impressed. It takes forever for the maps to download and I don’t seem to be able to turn off multi-tap in the search field which is really irritating.

I tried it on my Blackberry 8703, and it keeps giving connection errors.
I guess I’ll keep searching the old fashioned way, via the web.

I tried running the search prog on the 8800, and I am very disappointed with the results; very slow and appeared frozen most of the time. Can’t qualify this product even as a beta.

I would use this if the GPS was functional like in google maps. I like the zoom features but I need to be able to map from where I am now.
