I 100% completely agree. I can’t wait to get rid of this abomination. It has some great features, but when an even moderately heavy javascript in the web browser can prevent the phone from dialing, it tells me that they need to go back to the drawing board.

I’m tempted to pay full ticket for a new phone, but am going to wait six more months to get the new equipment deal. And then, it’s a 1 lb can of tannerite for this phone (search tannerite on youtube)

I admittedly have not read through all of the responses here, but I have a quite serious question. Why do you like this device? It is as bulky as the (also outdated) 8700, without the full keyboard or newer software and is far less attractive. It is ridiculous that Verizon has been peddling this thing for as long as they have, and not even at that heavily reduced a price. This entire post begs the question, is there something I do not know about this dinosaur of a device?

Seriously, I’d like to hear about what current/former 7130e users will miss- what aspects of the 8130 are undesireable from a 7130 lover’s standpoint? If the qwerty keyboard wasn’t such a crutch for me, I think the 8130 would be my first choice.

Now since the ignoramus has again gotten the attention he desperately craves, perhaps back to the topic (again).

Wouldn’t the 8130 be the replacement for the 7130e? The 87xx the 71xx form factor are RIM’s history, the thumb wheel has been retired for the trackball. RIM is moving forward, IMO no sense in not discontinuing the 7130e. Robb you like the 7130e better than your 8130? In a way I guess the 87xx the 71xx form factor were the end of a era at RIM, where I do like my Pearl and the Curve still always will think fondly on my old 8700, even though at the time it was missing some of the features which make the Pearl and the Curve what they are today.

It’s s touching to see bluehorseshoe yet again desperatly try blaming others for his own poor behavior, it yet again shows much about the type of person bluehorseshoe really is.

One way or another bluehorseshoe will learn this is RIMarkable which is about the wireless industry NOT a place for his personal thoughts and opinions of others. One way or another bluehorseshoe will learn people don’t post for him and certainly any “vacation from the board” he takes would not change how or what others post, other than the thread craps and personal attack posts would be gone. Saddly “fun” to bluehorseshoe means thread crapping, making personal comments, and his desire to keep FUD and ignorance above the truth. Nothing but a troll with a desperate need to stroke his ego, with even that failing him. One way or another bluehorseshoe will learn he and his posts have lost all credibility long ago and his posts mean nothing, and sure have no bearing on what others think other than verifying the type of person bluehorseshoe really is.
