I wonder how much of a pounding the screen is going to be able to take if it ‘gives’ a little. And if the screen can keep up with my typing speed, I think I’m in.

I don’t think the device needs WiFI…it has EVDO Rev A, so it will have a screaming fast connection.

The key is the touch action on the screen…if it works well, this will be a huge victory for RIM.

Someone I know who works at VZW. He tried it out and said typing on it was sluggish and unimpressive. I wonder if that was an older model?

c|net did a quick interview/review on the Storm. I provided the link below. Bonnie got a chance to play with the device and said finger typing on the screen felt like pushing a button. Sounds good. She also stated it’s slightly shorter but thicker than the iPhone. It has GPS, but she did mentioned VZW’s Navigator, so perhaps it’s not unlocked and you need to subscribe to the service. She also stated they were working out some bugs but should have it by the holidays. I spoke with my VZW guy and he hasn’t received anything just yet with regard to training.

Wow…those reviews are very positive. RIM may have very well pulled off a coup of sorts.

I’m with you blue…

There is no doubt that I am getting this phone if for no other reason than it will allow me to talk about it first hand, however, like with the iPhone, if I don’t like typing on it, I will switch back to my trusty BlackBerry Pearl.

All this info coming in is even getting me somewhat interested. I’m up for a new phone n November too with VZW, and I’m sure my Pearl can take a rest. This phone is looking better and better…but the day it comes out will be decision day for me…and I’m sure for many others who have a love affair with the BB keyboard.
