I thought about getting the Palm Pre. Pro's/ Con's? No bbm...that would be a bummer. I want to wait for the Bold if it really is coming. Ugh.

I’m waiting for BOLD to hit Sprint…any updates? Anyone? I thought about getting the Palm Pre. Pro’s/ Con’s? Then I went to compare the plans at ATT and saw the BOLD. The screen size, key pad, etc., is too much better than the Curve, to not wait for it. However, the posts above indicate May for BOLD... It is early March and it is out, so should we hope early summer for Sprint?

I was going to upgrade from my Treo (which I have never liked) to the Blackberry Curve, which had the ability to bump up the font, GPS, etc. I was all set to do that since my ugrade is available from Sprint. From Instore Reps. - I spoke with instore reps and they couldn't tell me anything. They definitely knew somehting but they couldn't tell me what.
Behind the Customer Service Counter - On one of the reps computers there were four phones across the top of the screen and the only one I saw clearly enough to determin what it was, it was either the BB Bold or Curve 8900 series. It was a quick glance so I didn't get a great look, but there's no mistaking the new BB home screen even at a quick glance. Oh, it definitely was not the Storm as it looks quite a bit different. I asked the rep sitting at the pc next to that one what it was and he turned the screen off and said he's not allowed to talk about it yet and he went right back to work.
611 Cust. Ser. - I spoke with a rep and I asked what was going to be available in the next 3 months (my 2 yrs. being up in May09). She told me she was not allowed to give out that information until they start promoting the release date of a product. I then told her what happened in the Verizon store (what I had seen on the rep's screen) and told her that I don't think it's right that they are able to have something like that out for customers to see but when we ask about it we're told they can't tell us. That's simply rude and unprofessional. She apologized for what had happend and then asked if I would like to be put on the list to purchase a Bold or Curve and that it was still early enough that I would recieve one as soon as they are areleased. I then asked about my new every 2 plan because I had heard recently that when your 2 years is up you only have 6 months to use the credit from Verizon. She said that the phones would be available before I would have to worry about that. I didn't get on the list. 1) I've never owned a BB. Only HTC's so far. jot sure I want to make the switch. 2) I never get a brand new smartphone when it first comes out. Just personal preference.
In conclusion - From the info I got from the rep I spoke with over the phone is that either the Bold, updated curve or both will be out on Verizon by November 2009 at the latest. I am due in May and she told me that I would be able to get one of those phones before 6months after my old contract is up. So November at the latest.

This is kind of an older post but I just came accross it so I’ll throw up some of the more recent info I got from Verizon.<br
